This weekend, May 31-June 1, we've got a diverse array of new movies hitting theaters (it's that summer storm we keep teasing!), ranging from horror to an iconic '80s movie reboot. We're also getting our somewhat-yearly sweet, whimsical treat fromWes Anderson, who's back with his familiar cast of characters. If theaters aren't your thing, there's even more movies coming to the small screen — and the return of a controversial rebooted show. And there's more! Here's a list of the eight best new movies and shows to watch this weekend and where to stream them. No, three original movies, two spinoffs and one years-long series is not enough of a child doing karate, otherwise known asKarate Kid. Obviously, the people needed more and more is what they shall have whenKarate Kid: Legendshits theaters just months after spinoffCobra Kaicame to an endin February. Karate Kid: Legendsreleases in theaters on May 30. Anderson is known for his whimsical and artsy movies — which always have an impressive (and repeating) cast — and this one is no different. Benicio del Torostars as Zsa-zsa Korda, one of the richest men in Europe with a penchant for getting into plane crashes. He names one of his 10 children — a nun played by newcomerMia Threapleton— as his sole heir and soon is the target of a number of assassins, terrorists and scheming tycoons. The Phoenician Schemereleases in theaters on May 30. And to round out our theater picks, we have the ever delightful horror movie of the week:Bring Her Back. This A24 tale follows a brother and sister who are taken into a foster home after their mother dies. While there, they witness a ritual performed by their foster mother that transfers dead souls into living bodies — and the rest was too scary for me to write down so you'll have to see for yourself! Bring Her Backreleases in theaters on May 30. And just like that, a new season is upon us — and Carrie Bradshaw still has more to give her devoted readers (i.e. viewers). The originalSex and the Citycast (sans Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones) are once again donning their New York City best and yapping away about their love and personal lives over Sunday brunch in season 3 ofAnd Just Like That...just as we couldn't help but wonder, what's next for these ladies? Mountainheadis director and writerJesse Armstrong's first work coming off the whopping success ofSuccession— and it is just as dynamic, witty and complex. Netflix is dipping its toe into the world of crime procedurals withDept. Q,a show about a grieving detective, Carl Morck, who is tasked with leading a cold case unit in Edinburgh. We couldn't leave you withoutanyreality TV!Mama Juneand her "dysfunctional" family (as she puts it herself in the trailer) are back for a seventh season — and the drama is piping hot. Alana Thompson, more famously known as Honey Boo Boo, wants her check from her mom, Pumpkin is splitting with her husband and June is fighting for custody of her granddaughter.
